The first temporary offshore health observation point at the Tianjin Port, north China’s Tianjin, has been put into use recently to deal with coronavirus pandemic.
The temporary observation point is located on the stern deck of tugboat “Tianjin Ferry 32”, which has been designated for anti-epidemic purpose. It is used for the transfer of suspected cases and close contacts on high-risk foreign cargo ships.
On the tugboat is a container-type isolation cabin, which has large-size watertight windows to facilitate ventilation. Such design separates tugboat operators and pilots from suspected infected cases.
As the COVID-19 continues to spread overseas, it is important to prevent and control imported cases in China.
